Tyson Fury’s amazing journey from the brink of defeat to world heavyweight champion yet again is one of the most inspiring in sport.

The ‘Gypsy King’ is loving life thanks to his love of exercise and fighting

Famously after winning the world heavyweight title from Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, the Gypsy King ballooned in weight and seemed destined to never fight again as he battled his own personal demons.

Yet after seeking professional help and falling back in love with boxing, Fury managed to shed an incredible amount of weight and fought once again in 2018.

Although his somewhat auspicious comeback fights against Sefer Seferi and Franceso Pianeta left a lot to be desired, Fury then faced Deontay Wilder in December 2018 and looked sensational.

In less than two years from that night in Los Angeles, he had regained the heavyweight championship of the world and proved to anyone struggling with mental health issues just how anything is possible.

Fury’s strength and conditioning coach and friend Kristian Blacklock was part of the incredible journey and shared a previously unseen photo of the 33-year-old in November 2017 on Instagram showing just how much Fury had to lose in such a short period of time.

Blacklock shared this image of Fury from November 2017 on his Instagram

Former trainer Ben Davison always insisted he had no idea just how Fury’s gas tank would last in that fight at the Staples Center after losing so much weight, perhaps leading to the knockdown at the end of the fight.

The Brit remarkable managed to clamber off the canvas and then finished Wilder in both their second and third fights.

‘The Gypsy King’ infamously climbed off the canvas in the 12th round of the first Wilder fight to prove to anyone suffering they can battle back too

Now, with his weight and fitness regime perfectly in sync once again, the WBC heavyweight champion is eyeing three more fights in 2022 and Dillian Whyte could well be next.
