Bob Arum has urged Dillian Whyte to thrash out a deal to fight Tyson Fury.

Dillian Whyte has been told by promoter Bob Arum to negotiate a deal to fight Tyson Fury

After his enthralling win over Deontay Wilder in October, Fury must now defend his WBC heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Whyte.

The WBC has ruled that Fury takes 80% of the total purse from a fight.

Arum (R) said Whyte could earn both a big pay deal and ‘prove his calibre’ by fighting Fury (C)

Fury and Whyte have until January 18 to strike a private deal before purse bids are ordered.

‘Whyte should sit down with myself and Frank Warren and work out a deal for a guarantee, and we’ll get this show on the road. Come to the table and let’s see if we can carve out a real deal. Let’s quit screwing around.’
